About Richard Potter

Richard Potter grew up the youngest of four children in a middle-class family in northwestern Iowa during the 1950’s. His parents loved Nat King Cole, Jackie Gleason and Dean Martin. One of his earliest memories is listening to Nat King Cole singing Christmas carols.

This song expresses my reaction to the news that George Reeves had allegedly killed himself. I grew up watching Adventures of Superman on TV in the 1950’s and when I learned that Reeves had supposedly committed suicide, I was crushed. George really was -- and still is -- my hero.

"Love Is Blind" is a great title, I think -- it's amazing that no-one, to my knowledge, has written a popular song by this title. This country/pop/rock song has a great hook; and when you listen, you'll instantly pick up the strong Buddy Holly influences.

I'm very excited that my latest song, "Noel," is finished. This is a song I wrote in honor of Noel Neill, the original Lois Lane. Ms. Neill appeared as Lois Lane in the old Superman serials starring Kirk Alyn (which predated the TV show) and also played the character in seasons 2-6 of the Adventures of Superman.
